Dermal Sensitization Potential of Trimethylolethane Trinitrate (TMETN) in Guinea Pigs

Zusammenfassung: | The Department of Defense is considering the use of either diethyleneglycol dinitrate (DEGDN), triethyleneglycol dinitrate (TEGDN), or trimethylolethane trinitrate (TMETN) as a replacement for nitroglycerin in new propellant formulations. Trimethylolethane trinitrate (TMETN) was evaluated for its potential to produce dermal sensitization in male guinea pigs. The Buehler test, which utilizes repeated closed patch inductions with the test compound, was used for this evaluation. No evidence of TMETN-induced sensitization was obtained in the study. |
