Zusammenfassung: | We have measured the effects of laser glare-source wavelength on the visibility of Head-Up Display (HUD) symbology. Most of the effects are due to the wavelength dependence of human illuminance sensitivity. When the human visibility function is taken into account, the magnitude of the wavelength dependence is reduced by a factor of 4.2. A second effect is a wavelength-independent effect in subjects. This second effect is directly correlated with subject age. The remaining (small) variation may be due to chromatic contrast sensitivity.
