Zusammenfassung:A two part research program was conducted to study the mechanics of creep crack growth in (1) nickel base superalloys as a function of alloy chemistry and test environment at 704 deg C; (2) a high strength aluminum alloy 2219-T851 at 175 deg C. The creep crack growth rate data is reported and analyzed in terms of fracture mechanics parameters. The automated test procedures used for the aluminum alloys are discussed in detail. An iterative model based on creep damage accumulation was derived to predict the creep crack growth rates.
