Zusammenfassung: | The wartime mission of the Air Force Prime Base Engineer Emergency Forces (BEEF) is to deploy and augment theater civil engineering in accordance with the appropriate operation plan (OPlan). A current problem with the Prime BEEF deployment process involves the identification and allocation of continental United States (CONUS) Prime BEEF resources for each pre-designated theater base. Contingency command planners give little or no consideration towards maintaining force integrity when identifying which Prime BEEF team satisfies a theater requirement. This research examines the current Prime BEEF force-identification and allocation process. Also this research develops a heuristic FORTRAN model which simulates the tasking process while emphasizing force integrity. Two unclassified, test data bases were introduced to the model. The research results demonstrate how the concept emphasizing force integrity can be incorporated throughout the force-identification decision process. The resultant force-identification information provided by the model gives the contingency command planner an initial Prime BEEF force and deployment list. (Author) |
