Zusammenfassung:A computer-based model which simulates the performance of howitzer crews and other crew-served systems was developed. The model can be used to simulate the speed of performance of crews varying in size and/or task assignments. The model is based on probabilistic modeling methods and consists of three segments: A task library containing the relevant crew tasks and their associated performance times; an input program for entering the crew size, the tasks to be performed by each man, and the order in which the tasks are to be performed; and the main program for integrating the input information and calculating summary performance measures based on that information. These performance measures can then be used for evaluating the speed and relative efficiency of crews varying in size or structure.
