Zusammenfassung: | The amendments to the Clean Water Act of 1977 require Army installations to consider wastewater reuse when planning new water or wastewater treatment works. This has created a need for a method that can be used (1) to assess quickly the opportunities for reuse at Army fixed facilities, and (2) to identify the most cost-effective reuse option available. To address this need, U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) researchers have developed the Wastewater Reuse component of the Pollution Abatement Management Systems (PAMS). This will help the Army Facilities Engineers, major commands, and Environmental Offices meet Federal environmental requirements by allowing a quick, accurate assessment of reuse potential, and providing a basis for economic comparison of reuse systems.
