The Development of Chronic Insertable Oxygen Electrodes

During the past contract year, progress was made in defining the aging process that occurs at the working electrode of a blood oxygen electrochemical sensor. A specific pre-treatment protocol was developed which led to consistent and predictable long term cathodic responses. The predictability of these responses is predicated on a model that was derived to explain the current responses of disc-shaped electrodes. (Author)
