Zusammenfassung: | The optimization algorithm developed for the SOFT wing program has been revised to make it more applicable for use in routine wind tunnel testing. The algorithm modification removed some unused routines and simplified the control input requirements. The modified optimization algorithm was demonstrated in the 1-ft transonic Aerodynamic Wind Tunnel (1T) using a 3-degree-of-freedom model. The test Mach number was 0.8. The algorithm was successfully demonstrated for all three optimization runs attempted. These included minimization of drag coefficient for a specified coefficient of lift, maximization of lift coefficient for a specified coefficient of drag, and maximization of lift-to- drag ratio for a specified coefficient of drag. |
