Zusammenfassung: | The Lake Bono Del Dam, which according to the St. Louis District, Corps of Engineers, is of high hazard potential, was visually inspected by engineering personnel. The purpose of this inspection was to assess the general condition of the dam with respect to safety, and based upon this inspection and available data, determine if the dam poses an inordinate danger to human life or property. The following report summarizes the findings of the visual inspection and the results of certain hydrologic/hydraulic investigations performed under the direction of the inspection team. Based on the visual inspection and the results of these hydrologic/hydraulic investigations, the present general condition of the dam is considered to be somewhat less than satisfactory. Several deficiencies were observed during the visual inspection which are considered to have an adverse effect on the overall safety and future operation of the dam. These deficiencies include such items as trees and brush on the downstream face of the dam, animal burrows in the upstream face of the dam, embankment erosion at the upstream face of the dam, and a fence extending across the spillway channel.
