Zusammenfassung:This report describes research accomplished in support of the Combined Arms Tactical Training Simulator Device (CATTS) located at Fort Benning, Georgia. This device was developed as a command and control simulator and uses a mechanized infantry battalion tactical operations center as the simulated environment. A Command Group (Battalion Commander, Intelligence Officer, Operations Officer, Fire Support Officer, and Air Force Liaison Officer) interacts with Controllers, who, in turn, interact with a computer containing a programmed mathematical model for tactical assessments. Three major products were developed in support of the Systems Definition Phase of the CATTS program. The first product was an interim Controller's Manual which provided initial guidance to those personnel acting in the capacity of Controllers. The second product was a behavioral assessment system that could be used to evaluate the Command Group. The final product involved the development of various attitude measurement questionnaires that were used to identify significant capabilities and limitations of the CATTS device. (Author)
