Zusammenfassung: | The fluctuations of a scattered laser pulse resulting from the illumination of uncorrelated, rough-surface areas of a target are examined. Amplitude fluctuations are treated as a random process with stationary increments. LADAR range-Doppler images can n be degraded by these fluctuations. Field structure functions are calculated for conical targets and a normalized structure function is found to be temporally invariant. Range and Doppler smearing of LADAR target signatures is facilitated by the use of the local degree of coherence function which is simply related to the normalized structure function for targets having normalized local homogeneity (such as cones).
