Zusammenfassung: | This report summarizes the analysis and algorithm design for the application of adaptive decision aiding methodlogy to airborne ASW operation. The objective focuses on the transition of the ADDAM (Adaptive Decision Aiding Methodology) to the decision functions of the Tactical Coordination Officers (TACCO) in the P3 aircraft. The report reviews the P3 ASW decision environment, describes the mission objectives, analyzes the TACCO decision tasks, and reviews currently available computational and decision aids. Methodology used in submarine tracking are reviewed. Detailed decision analysis of the TACCO decision task is described and mapped into decision theoretic concepts in terms of decision trees, probabilities, and utilities. Algorithms for employing adaptive decision aiding within the TACCO decision task are developed for a set of decisions involving sensor pattern selection and number of sensors per pattern for a given probability distribution of submarine locations. An adaptive utility model is developed together with utility and probability assessment procedures. An implementation plan is described for a demonstration system which will be operated in the real P3 aircraft computer under simulation conditions. (Author) |
