Zusammenfassung: | This report reviews the design and development of the electronic assemblies used with Quadrupole Mass Spectrometers. The Mass Spectrometers are used by the Air Force Geophysics Laboratory to make composition studies of the upper atmosphere and the ionosphere. The first phase of work was directed toward a satellite instrument designed to measure both positive and neutral constituents in the range of 1 AMU to 44 AMU. Phase two was directed toward a balloon instrument which would be used to measure positive ions in the range of 10 AMU up to 400 AMU. Phase three was directed toward the design of an instrument RMS-5 which could be used on either a rocket or satellite and measure both positive and neutral constituents. (Author) |
