Zusammenfassung: | The radiated fields of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) simulator are of interest for various reasons, the most obvious being that of surveillance. The thesis represents the first in a group of proposed studies that will estimate the radiated fields of various EMP simulators based on thin wire modeling of the structure. It lays the tutorial ground work for future analyses by a simultaneous development of the time and frequency domain integral equations, and presents an efficient scheme for direct computation of the time domain response of the structure. The numerical procedures thus developed are applied to the transient analysis of a linear dipole, to demonstrate the validity of the method. The technique can be readily adapted to the analysis of arbitrarily oriented wire structures with lumped loading. |
