Zusammenfassung: | Progress on the development of instrumentation for dynamically measuring pressure, temperature, and film thickness without distrubing the flow field in a mechanical face seal test facility is reported. New developments indicate such measurements are feasible. Wear tests involving a detailed electron microscopy study of surface topology of specimens consisting of pair combinations of nickel and a nickel-20 atomic percent molybdenum alloy in both ordered and disordered conditions are reported.
