Zusammenfassung:	Emphasis of the work is on development of a process or processes involving casting of semi-solid alloys. During the six month period of research covered by the report, emphasis was on developing casting systems which combine (1) a method of producing a semi-solid slurry continuously, (2) a 'gel' or 'collection' chamber, and (3) a casting machine. A large number of castings were produced of a low melting point alloy, and of a copper base alloy. A limited number were also produced of a ferrous alloy (fe-2.5%C-3.1%Si). Other work reported is on development of a process for electromagnetically injecting semi-solid or liquid alloys into metal mold and on thermal analysis of mold behavior in casting of semi-solid ferrous alloys.
