Zusammenfassung: | The Basic Circuit Modules program will produce a design for a modular EMI measuirng system. The system will be composed of circuit modules which can be utilized for EMI measurements in the 30 Hz to 40 GHz frequency range. This system will be designed for use in future EMI testing and for testing to existing specifications. Phase I of the program will produce a design which will be implemented in hardware form during Phase II. Measurement techniques which can be applied to the EMI environment are discussed. Considerations are given to using different measurement parameters when working in controlled or uncontrolled environments. A new technique described is the simulation of inductance using active devices. Correlation between calculated and experimental results were obtained, and breadboard circuitry was evaluated. Hardware development of voltage-controlled preselectors was considered. An octave band preselector is described covering the 65 to 130 MHz frequency range. Special studies were made on the low frequency portion of the receiver (30 Hz to 1 MHz) and a system defined with two methods of LO signal generation. A method of generating a multioctave LO source was also analyzed. The initial design provided an LO source for the entire 1 to 12 GHz frequency range. Extending this technique to cover the 1 MHz to 12 GHz range is considered. A preliminary study of auxiliary equipment defined the equipment needed for receiver control and data collection. |
