Zusammenfassung:The objective of the study was to develop an optimum power control and system overload alert scheme for Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) tactical satellite communications systems. The study emphasized the following areas which were considered to be of major importance: (a) the relative merits of various power control schemes under static satellite loading conditions; (b) an assessment of the relative merits of several system overload schemes; (c) an investigation of the effects of dynamic satellite loading conditions on the performance of established links operating in conjunction with various power control techniques; (d) investigations of the measurement and static estimation accuracy of the technique(s) to be employed in conjunction with the recommended power control system; (e) investigations to define specific implementation considerations in sufficient detail to provide estimates of size, weight and cost for the recommended power control techniques.
