Zusammenfassung: | An electroplated silver-lead-indium-composite was selected as the cam-ring surface material for use with pivoting-tip vanes. It was qualified in vane experiments at design conditions of vane load, fluid temperature, and tip velocity. The composite material was also qualified in a fatigue experiment in which a specimen with silver plated on one side was deflected 10 million cycles with the silver in tension, then 10 million cycles with the silver in compression. A start-up problem with the pivoting tips was identified during the first run with the fixed-displacement pump, and corrective action was planned. A program to develop techniques for fabricating deformable cam rings was planned and experiments were begun. The pressure-compensator design study was completed, and the analysis indicates that the control will be stable for the design conditions. (Author)
