Zusammenfassung:The theory of stationary electromotive forces of galvanic thermocouples was developed, that is, the theory of the potential difference of identical electrodes immersed in solutions of different temperature in contact with each other, in which the composition corresponds to the Soret equilibrium. It was shown that values characteristic of individual ions, namely the entropies of moving ions, can be calculated from the stationary electromotive forces. The entropy of a moving ion is the sum of the entropies of an ion and of the entropy of ion transfer. (Author) Trans. of Zhurnal Fizicheskoi Khimii (USSR) v26 n4 p500-8 1952, tr. by W. R. Eichler.
