The Preparation and Ballistic Evaluation of Transparent Polyurethane Block Copolymers Based on 2,4-Toluene Diisocyanate

The report describes synthesis and ballistic performance of a polyurethane block copolymer for transparent armor. It was formulated from 2,4-toluene diisocyanate, polytetramethylene oxide, and 1,4-butanediol. Curing parameters and composition are discussed with regard to ballistic performance.
