Zusammenfassung: | The objective of the contract is to conduct a research and development program leading to the fabrication, testing, and delivery of a binary-addressable scan-conversion storage tube. The tube is to be capable of simultaneous write and non-destructive read operation at video frequencies up to 10 megahertz. The effort during this quarter consisted of acquiring the substrates for the digitizer plates and target. Demountable testing of the flood gun section of the device has resulted in a set of operational parameters for reasonable collimation of the flood beam. Two of the electrode masks have been fabricated, and preparations have been completed for making the remaining four. Investigations into the fabrication technique for the target were completed. Under present program restraints, laser drilling must be used for fabrication of the target as well as the digitizer plates. Development of a fast address circuit for the device has also been terminated, since it was severely hampering other necessary program efforts. The device will be addressed with the circuit used for driving the Phase I device. (Author)
