Zusammenfassung: | Quantitative exploration of the Mach-Dvorak phenomenon with an 8 msec index exposure identified masking between successive sequences of stimulation as a critical variable to be controlled in experimentation. Within the limits of the data obtained, interocular coordination would seem to be a two factor process with the referent for quantitative depth apparently associated with the termination of stimulation. The impression of depth which remains when the referent for quantitative depth has been masked is consistent in direction with the average luminance difference between the eyes, i.e., the Pulfrich phenomenon. Individual differences in sensitivity to the experimental manipulations were evident. (Author) |
