Zusammenfassung:An experimental study of the vaporization and combustion to single drops of kerosene and gasoline thickened with polyisobutylene is given. The drops were suspended at the outlet of the tube in which the flow was produced. The temperature was varied from 300 to 800 C, while the flow was equal to 3 m per sec. It was established that pulsations arise during vaporization and combustion. Brief periods of uniform combustion alternate with more or less intense flame bursts. The time required for complete vaporization of drops of various diameters was determined, as well as the ignition delay time and the minimum ignition temperature.
