Improved Crew Member Training Through a New Philosophy Toward Training

New emphasis on the total learning process is bringing about significant changes in both the educational and training communities. The process-oriented, systems approach to training integrates behavioral objectives, media, and instructors in such a way that increased training effectiveness is realized through a greater ability to deal with the learning requirements of the individual student. Based on current United States Air Force efforts to employ and evaluate this general approach to training, new efficiencies in instruction are indicated. This system will provide a basis for defining the characteristics of future UPT multi-media systems. The basic principles inherent in the new-look in training appears to be generally applicable to all phases of crew-member training. (Author)
