Zusammenfassung: | New linear polymers with isocyanurate and S-triazine cycles were synthesized, their physical properties and particularly their thermal stability were defined. Their structure was verified by infrared spectroscopy. The polyureas were prepared by polycondensation of 1-butyl-3,5-bis-(beta-isocyanatoethyl)isocyanurate (I) with an equimolar amount of tetramethylene-, hexamethylene-, or p-phenylene-diamine, or piperazine, or 2-propyl-, 2-amyl-, 2-phenyl-, or 2-p-tolyl-4,6-diamino-triazine. For comparison, polyureas were also prepared from 2-propyl-, 2-amyl- and 2-p-tolyl-4, 6-diaminotriazines and an equimolar amount of hexamethylenediisocyanate by condensation in dimethylformamide. The produced polyureas are white powders of low molecular weights; the polymers based on I have 198-252 C melting points, and the polymers obtained from hexamethylenediisocyanate melt at 202-287 C. Introduction of heterocycles increases the melting point. Melting proceeds without decomposition, and the polymers are soluable in H2SO4 and in some organic solvents. (Author)
