Zusammenfassung:The reticular and particularly the limbic system post stimulus discharges were observed in rats, cats and Nemestrina monkeys. The findings in regard to the use of microelectrodes for the study of dynamics of this discharge confirmed the impression that this appears to be an impractical method for such a study. There was no evidence to suggest a significant correlation between unit firing and post stimulus limbic discharge. The relationship between impedance changes and the post stimulus limbic discharge was studied and details are presented. The observations of the D-C shifts related to this discharge are to be increased to a significant number and equipment is on order to upgrade such observations. The findings on correlating the effect of limbic stimulation and post stimulus discharge on operant conditioning was rewarding, both as to the immediate effect of the stimulus and that of the post stimulus discharge. The correlation of impedance changes occurring in the area of stimulation and post stimulus discharge presents a significant potential for the better understanding of the dynamics of this post stimulus discharge.
