Zusammenfassung: | Improvement in ration acceptability was approached through the use of adjuncts (flavored spreads) in combination with the rations. Of the 14 adjuncts tested, only 8 were found to be preferable to the ration alone when tasted in a paired-comparison test. The three adjuncts receiving the highest scores (strawberry jelly, wild cherry jelly, and lemon jelly) should be considered for storage in civil defense shelters. These results were based on experiments involving 12 subjects for each of the 42 adjunct-ration combinations. (Author) |
