Zusammenfassung:Studies on the generation of acoustic signals by an underwater electric discharge in water of zero salinity using an inverse pinch electrode geometry were carried out. The report presents some results obtained with a high-speed framing camera and also the results obtained with an electrode assembly having a lower inductance than the inverse pinch electrode geometries previously reported upon. The acoustic intensity radiated by this new electrode configuration was found to be larger than that radiated by previous configurations tested when compared at the same energy level.
