Zusammenfassung: | Dynamic stress strain relations have been obtained in compression at room temperature for a number of shock mitigating materials. The Hopkinson pressure bar technique has been used to obtain data at rates of strain from 370 in/in/sec to 13,750 in/in/sec. It has been observed that for many materials the effect of strain rate on stress for large values of strain can be measured to within 10 percent. Stress-strain relations which appear to be insensitive to changes in high strain rates have been observed in several materials. Experience has shown that rubber compositions cannot be tested by this method. (Author) |
