Zusammenfassung:On high-resolution photometric tracings of the solar spectrum taken by L. Delbouille and G. Roland certain Mn I lines near lambda 8700, belonging to the multiplet y(6)P(o) - e(6)D, have wide, complex profiles that are attributed to hyperfine structure, Structures at lambda lambda 8741, 8704 and 8701 A are analysed. The earlier identifications of P I lines by Babcock and Moore are confirmed. An abridged multiplet table giving laboratory and solar data lists 26 lines due to neutral phosphorus, including some blends, in the infrared region of the Fraunhofer spectrum. Eighteen of the P I assignments are new: of these, four are subject to some doubt. Six of the new identifications are based on prediction. (Author)
