Zusammenfassung: | A comprehensive review of the literature concerning the naval delinquency problem was undertaken. This review led to a summarization of all relevant research findings and a further summarization of the recommendations of earlier writers in this area. Following a critical evaluation of both summaries and of the assumptions underlying the traditional approach, it was concluded that the traditional approach to the identification of the deliquentprone was approaching an asymptote of effectiveness. Accordingly, a new approach, based upon the concepts of occupational choice, satisfaction, and adjustment, is recommended. A comprehensive, but general, research design is proposed to investigate and evaluate this new approach. (Author) |
