Zusammenfassung: | Experimental equipment specifications are being completed for the study of quality and flow rate effects on heat transfer coefficient of boiled K in a forced circulation loop. Pressure drop and void fraction measurements will be made in a second test section to study 2 phase flow behavior with metallic fluids. A pool boiler will be used to study pressure effects and to increase the temperature and flux levels beyond the 1800 F and 10 to the 6th power Btu/hr-sq ft anticipated in the loop. Film boiling of K will be studied using condensing Na or La as a heat source. A Nb vessel will be used thus making it possible to increase the range of surface temperatures. Initial agravic experiments will utilize Hg pool boiling from a stainless surface with normal accelerations up to 20 g's. (Author) |
