Zusammenfassung:Indian cobra venom was fractionated chromatographically with dextran gels and carboxymethylcellulose (CMC). Five fractions, including two with toxicity, were obtained from dextran gel of optimal cross-linkage. Resolution and yield were affected by the ratio of sample to absorbent. Twelve fractions from CMC included two with toxicity that were heat labile and stable, respectively. Most fractions by both methods of chromatography were heterogeneous by zone electrophoresis. Three bioassay methods showed different degrees of enrichment of toxicity. (Author)
