Zusammenfassung:The intensive development of road transport as a significant subsystem of the overall transport system imposes the need for digitization of the transport process. In modern conditions, road transport companies that perform public transport of passengers and/or goods use modern information and communication technologies both in the process of transport and in the entire business, in order to provide better quality transport services and ensure an adequate level of competitiveness in the transport market. Road transport companies represent complex systems according to their organization, so for the purpose of efficient operation they should pay special attention to the digitization of the transport process. Managing the operation of road transport companies is an extremely complex process that involves making a large number of different decisions in real time. Digitization allows decision makers in road transport companies to have the opportunity to timely dispose accurate and useful information and data as well as to obtain relevant structured reports that will enable them to make quality management decisions. The use of modern information and communication technologies will represent in the future a crucial competitive advantage in the transport market.
