Zusammenfassung: | Background: studies on pharmaceutical drug use are essential to promote a rational consumption. Objective: to describe the use of pharmaceutical drugs in the main chronic diseases of the health district of the municipality of Las Tunas, from January to December 2018.Methods: a descriptive cross-sectional, indication-prescription study was carried out at the aforementioned place and during the period herein declared. The sample consisted of 300 medical certificates of patients with indications of drugs for the treatment of the main causes of morbidity in the district: arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus and bronchial asthma. Their medical certificates were registered in the pharmacies of the different health districts of the municipality. The results were analyzed by using descriptive statistics. Results: there was a higher degree of representativeness in the 40 to 59 age group (42 %) and the male sex (62,7 %). Regarding morbidity the highest prevalence occurred in arterial hypertension (88 %), followed by diabetes mellitus (69 %) and bronchial asthma (60 %). The most prescribed drugs were angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (91,6 %), glibenclamide (72 %) and salbutamol spray (67,6 %).Conclusions: for the treatment of hypertension first-line drugs are ordered, not so for type 2 diabetes mellitus and bronchial asthma. |
