Zusammenfassung: | Abstract Internal hernia resulting from a perforated Meckel's diverticulum (MD) is an extremely rare complication of MD. A child presenting with signs of obstruction and concomitant sepsis is typically presumed to have perforated acute appendicitis, until proven otherwise intra-operatively. The following case illustrates the importance of recognizing the need for emergent surgery when confronted with an acute abdomen of uncertain etiology and maintaining a broad differential whilst doing so. |
