Zusammenfassung: | According to the World Health Organization, iodine deficiency occurs in 130 countries around the world, and 2.2 billion people (38% of the world's population) live in iodine-deficient areas. [2] A study was conducted among Health and Integrated Child Development Services Project workers in five blocks of Lakhimpur, Uttar Pradesh, to assess the impact of health education sessions on awareness regarding iodized salt and its consumption in the community. In 2009, 2010, and 2011, health education sessions were carried out regularly to sensitize lady health visitors, auxiliary nurse midwives, supervisors or Mukhya Sevikas, Anganwadi workers, accredited social health activists, and general population to take iodized salt of good quality (>15 ppm) without mentioning the names of the brands. |
