"Art of passage", places of meaning, politics and power
This essay is a reflection on the role of mural art in the formation of a national imagination, in Italy and Brazil of 1930s, based on the study of the works of Mario Sironi and Cândido Portinari and the relationship between memory, mural painting and the cultural policy of the State.
