Zusammenfassung:The aim of this study was to examine the effect of applying different concentrations of synthetic plant hormones on the parameters of the quality of pepper seedlings (Capsicum annuum L. CV. 'Sivrija'). Plant hormones which used in this experiment were indole-acetic acid (IAA), indole-butyl acid (IBA) and benzyl adenine (BA), and each of them was applied in five different concentrations: 100, 300, 500, 1000 and 3000 mg l-1. In this study the following parameters of the quality of pepper seedlings were tested: fresh matter weight of root, number of root hair per unit area of the root, leaf area, and the content of photosynthetic pigments in leaves. In variants where the hormones IAA, IBA and BA were applied at a concentration of 100 and 300 mg l-1, values of all examined parameters were significantly higher than in the control, untreated variant, and the same can be recommended for use in the cultivation of pepper seedlings (Capsicum annuum L. CV. 'Sivrija'). In variants where the hormones IAA, IBA and BA were applied at a concentration of 500 ppm and more young pepper seedlings were unable to continue their life cycle, and has been their wilting, which can be explained by the fact that too high concentrations of hormone can have herbicidal effect on plant, especially in early stages of plant development.
