Zusammenfassung:Abstract This resource is a part of a seven-module curriculum intended to provide teaching faculty caring for well newborns with accessible, approachable, easily delivered, hands-on tools for bedside teaching in the newborn nursery. This specific module could be used to teach senior residents proper coding and documentation, but is primarily designed for faculty self-study/faculty development. The module includes a PowerPoint presentation, as well as a coding table and a pretest assignment. The homework assignment should take 15 minutes to complete, with 60 minutes of faculty development time to teach and review the answers. The module can also be used for independent study. It was tested by authors at the Oregon Health & Science University and University of Michigan and was well-received by participants. A formal assessment on whether the faculty development session leads to decreases in changes in codes and an increase in reimbursements had not been carried out at the time of publication.
