Zusammenfassung:Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a complex disease characterized by an aberrant developmental retinal angiogenesis in preterm infants and can carry significant visual morbidity, including retinal detachment and blindness. Though large scale, randomized clinical trials have improved our understanding of the pathophysiology and progression of the disease, the management of ROP remains a challenge for ophthalmologists. This review addresses the up-to-date screening approach, diagnosis, and treatment guidelines for ROP in the US.
