Zusammenfassung: | The works of William Gibson, one of the most prominent writers of the cyberpunk subgenre, show how the cyberpunk vision of the interaction of real and virtual spaces has become part of the ofyective reality. Its integration into the contemporary technological and consumer society is most obvious in the tendencies of the technological development and the pace of technological changes. Gibson’s novels Neuromancer, Count Zero, Mona Lisa Overdrive and Pattern Recognition demonstrate cyberpunk’s potentials to reflect the dilemmas referring to the integration of ofyective and virtual realities. |
