Zusammenfassung:MULIBAND is a typical multi-band model for arterial traffic signal progression. However, there are still some problems in the MULTIBAND model, such as the weighting coefficients and the ratio coefficients of bandwidth need to be defined precisely, the constraints that the centerline of progression band must be symmetric are too strict, the spatial position of the initial queuing clearance time needs to be redefined and the optimization space of phase sequence needs to be extended. Considering the above deficiencies, improvements are made to the MULTIBAND model and then an improved MULTIBAND model is developed. Finally, the improved MULTIBAND model is verified with a numerical example. The results of bandwidth show that the improved MULTIBAND has the ability to make the bandwidth obtained by theoretical calculations coincide with the one obtained by actual plotting and the simulation results show that the improved MULTIBAND can effectively reduce the comprehensive performance indexes(the summation of weighted average delay time and average number of stops), which confirms its effectiveness and practicality.
