Zusammenfassung: | A Langur (Semnopithecus sp.) presented for surgical removal of a fractured forelimb at Nagpur Veterinary College Hospital, Nagpur. After surgery the animal succumbed to severe injuries and blood loss. While conducting post-mortem examination a blood smear was prepared from heart blood and stained with Leishman’s stain. Microscopic examination revealed Ehrlichia sp. organisms, which appears to be a first report of Ehrlichia infection in Langur, a nonhuman primate from Indian subcontinent. |
