Zusammenfassung: | Diana Velazquez-Pimentel,* Amaury Trockels,* Eleanor Smith* Department of Medicine, Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University, London, UK*These authors contributed equally to this workCorrespondence: Diana Velazquez-PimentelDepartment of Medicine, Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University, 4 Newark St, E1 2AT, Whitechapel, London, UKEmail d.velazquez-pimentel@smd14.qmul.ac.uk We read with great interest Shiferaw andMehari's1 article on eHealth literacy in Ethiopiawhich concluded that 69.3% of health care providers were highly eHealth literate. Theauthors clearly defined eHealth literacy as "the ability to seek, find, understand, andappraise health information from electronic sources and apply the knowledge gained toaddress or solve a health problem" , this is important to clarify given eHealth isconsidered a neologism and can have different definitions depending on the stakeholdersand/or activities to which it relates.2 The authors make clear recommendations andrecognise that eHealth literacy has the potential to transform and develop healthcaresystems in resource-poor settings with simple infrastructure measures and training.1 View the original paper byShiferaw and Mehari |
