Zusammenfassung:The study aims to test predictive power and relationship between musical instrument performance achievement and some psychological characteristics such as academic motivation, anxiety, and locus of control and some individual characteristics such as instrument background and daily practice time in music students. A total of 80 music students participated in the study. For the data collection; the Beck Anxiety Inventory, Academic Motivation Scale, Rotter Internal-External Locus of Control Scale and Personal Information Form were used. Pearson correlation tecnics and stepwise regression analysis were used for the analysis of the research data. The results of study showed that there were negative relation with anxiety and positive relation with academic motivation, and daily practice time with the instrument performance achievement.The regression analysis results showed that the individual instrument performance scores predicted by anxiety and academic motivation. However, it was found that the relations with the instrument backround and locus of control were not significant.
