Zusammenfassung:The article aims to systemize views of different Armenian scholars on features of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in Armenia and their role in national economy. Based on analysis of various publications about FDIs in Armenia, the authors conclude that mainly they are within mainstream of modern FDI concepts. Although, there are signs of Marxist ideology in some of the publications. As a result, authors found positive correlation between FDI flows to the country and sustainable development in long-term perspective. Although, the scholars state that flow of FDIs in Armenia and other developing countries is not a key factor of economic growth. The article emphasizes some factors for attraction of FDIs to Armenia. Some of the factors are considered to be crucial by the scholars. Particularly, they mention strategic assets in industry (brownfield investments), non-expensive and high-qualified employees and widespread Armenian diaspora.
