Zusammenfassung:	The article presents major indications for prescription in the pediatric practice of iron preparations for parenteral administration. The most frequent cases of iron-deficient anemia requiring prescription of parenteral iron preparations are demonstrated on clinical examples. The attention is given to the selection of the optimal iron preparation for parenteral administration depending on the age of the child and calculation of the drug dosage.
