Zusammenfassung:[Display omitted] •Substantiation of host metabolic balance by L. plantibacjllus plantarum Inducia.•Genes of L. plantarum Inducia related to cholesterol removal and antioxidativity.•Antioxidative expression of decrease LDL, ox-LDL, OxS markers.•Reduction in LDL-c, TC and improvement of TC/HDL-c and LDL-c/HDL-c ratio.•Probiotic fecal recovery, improved clinical biomarkers, gut microbiota modulation. The specific effectiveness of the Lactiplantibacillus plantarum strain Inducia of human intestinal origin was evaluated by genomic technologies, biochemical methods, and clinical biomarkers. The whole-genome sequence of L. plantarum Inducia harbored oxidative and lipid metabolism genes. The relevance of the assessed gene set to the functional properties of the strain in experimental research and to the reduction in cholesterol and oxidative stress levels in blood was assessed in two clinical trials with probiotic yogurt. In total, eleven genes of L. plantarum Inducia corresponded to antioxidative activity, cholesterol metabolism and polyamine production. In vitro Inducia was able to produce antioxidative compounds and to deconjugate bile acids. Both human volunteer trials demonstrated beneficial changes in the metabolic balance of the host. Thus, the probiotic Lactiplantibacillus plantarum Inducia can be considered for the maintenance of cardiovascular health.
